Types Of SD Card

  • SDSC (Standard Capacity): It  was announced on  July 13, 2005.  SDSC offer 32MB, 64MB, and 128 MB where maximum capacity of 2 gigabytes (GB).

  • SDHC(The Secure Digital High Capacity): It was announced in January 2006.  SDHC cards offer higher storage capacities, with a maximum capacity of 32 gigabytes (GB).

  • SDXC (The Secure Digital eXtended Capacity): It was announced in January 2009. SDXC cards offer the highest storage capacity among the three formats. They have a minimum capacity of 64 gigabytes (GB) and can go up to several terabytes (TB) of storage.

  • SDUC(The Secure Digital Ultra Capacity): It was announced in June 2018. Its storagr cpacity start from 2TB  supports cards up to 128 TB.


Speed of SD Card :

The speed of an SD card refers to its data transfer rate or speed class, indicating how quickly it can read or write data, with higher speeds denoting faster performance.

Can We Increase The Size Of SD Card?

No, it is not possible to physically increase the storage capacity of an existing SD card. The storage capacity of an SD card cannot be increased once manufactured, as it is determined by the card's design and technology.
